“Flood Plain” 2016 – Oil and Mixed Media on Board

Watching a river in flood in Western Queensland reminded me of Dorothea McKellar’s poem.

“My Country”. – Of droughts and flooding rains…. Her beauty and her terror – The wide brown land for me!

I was intrigued how the river grew so quickly and seemed to morph into different shapes as it bulged and spewed over the adjacent flat land.
